[SUGGESTION] Legion Ranking System. Empty
PostSubject: [SUGGESTION] Legion Ranking System.   [SUGGESTION] Legion Ranking System. Icon_minitimeThu Aug 08, 2013 10:47 pm

Alright, so before I begin, I'd like to say that this is posted here for the reason that I'm unable to create a thread within the Suggestions sub-forum. You might want to tend to that problem.

Moving on.

I've seen that the canon for the Legion is somewhat off, and I'd like to help improve it, or re-do it over all. Keep in mind your canon is not fully off to the point that it's almost ridiculous, you've just left out some ranks.

Here's the listing in order, and a briefing on them.

Recruit Legionary: This is the very bulk of the Legion, having them be absolute new members to Caesars Legion. They must prove themselves at this rank, and are put through vigorous training, including sparring with their instructor, and excercises (E.G Push ups, pull ups, and so on). They're given only a machete and handed down rags from Prime legionairs.

Prime Legionary: A Prime Legionary has shown that they are capable of taing to the battlefield, and even killing a foe or two. They're given much more freedom then a recruit, and are most likely seen in small tribes travelling with a higher rank. They're given somewhat new ranks, and their old ones are given to the Recruits. They're now responsible enough to carry a 10mm pistol, alongside their machete from when they were a recruit.

Veteran Legionary: Ah, you're starting to distinguish yourself, as you've put hard work into your Legion, and are dedicated to what you do. Your armour is more advanced now, having the shoulderpads being replaced with solid scrap metal, reinforced of course, and new padding for the chest, and legs. Arm braces are given as well, made of reinforced scrap metal like the shoulder padding, and help with melee engagements. You've still got the power of a Prime Legionary, but you should be more respected by others now. You're also aloud a hunting rifle for more protection.

Decanus: You've been chosen as a Decanus, the first rank able to command on the battlefield, congratulations. You also get some new perks alongside it, like being able to control a small encampment, and you're now eligable for a cowboy repeater, or you can choose to keep your hunting rifle if you so choose. Your shoulder padding is now modified with nails, extruding from the top to injur and enemies who choose to take to melee combat. You've also got the chance to switch in your machete for a power fist, or fire axe if you're getting tired of your machete, or it's just not fitting anymore. You're treated with much respect, and can lead a tribe of a maximum five people. Your now distinguished through your new helmet, having it been decorated with red and white feathers, to show you're decanus.

Veteran Decanus: This is the more advanced version of Decanus, having them been the origional Decanus rank, showing their great skills towards the Legion, and having pride for what they do, alongside slaying their enemies. The red and white feathered cap is replaced with a red and black feathered cap, to show they've been ranked as Veteran Decanus. They have the same arsenal as a normal Decanus, but their combat skills should be more advanced. You're able to lead a tribe of eight people now, and you can control an encampment like a normal Decanus.

Praetorian: This is a great honor to receive, this title is only given to those who've shown they give their heart and soul to the Legion, and have fierce skills whilst doing so. Praetorians are chosen from Veteran Decanus's who've shown great leadership. Praetorian's are soldiers who are eligable for Centurion, and hand picked from Caesar himself. They now have access to a ballistic fist, and their helmet is taken away to distinguish that they're no normal soldier. Still the same armour as a Decanus, but slightly upgraded to take more blows. Praetorians are aloud to lead a tribe of twelve people.

Centurion: You're greatly distinguished throughout the Legion now, you're now given your own Legion outpost, and are completely responsible for any actions within that. You're also aloud to do full fledged raids, made up of any amount of men you so choose, and you're aloud to anything in the arsenal that you've got (This includes the Thermic Lance, which is frequently used by Centurions). You do whatever you please within your outpost, and you do what's best for the Legion, not for yourself, with honor of course.

Other units:

Legionary scout: This unit is trained with the skill of reconnaissance, they're main objective is usually keeping patrol around encampments, alongside a few mongrels for extra protection, and maybe sniff out a foe. Stalking prey is also a skill within this unit, but isn't trained with this skill to their full potential.

Legionary Explorer: This is a branched unit who've chosen it's in their best interest that they stay somewhat out of combat, and instead migrate around other areas to reach a great point in the tactical outcome. They're equipped with a machete, and 10mm pistol. They're usually seen delivering messages as well, as their fairly agile units.

Frumentarii: These are the eyes and ears of Caesar, and mostly serve as spies for the Legion. They're rarely ever seen on patrol in tribes, only if they're migrating, and usually stay out of sight even within encampments. These units are hand picked from a leader in an outpost, or even Caesar himself. They're equipped with a silenced weapon of their choice, and a machete. Serving as spies also leads to assassin work, so this unit is very seldom in sight, and usually would lurk in the dark, or out of mind.

Vexillarius: The Vexillarius is mostly seen on the battlefield, infront of all the troops coming along. their main task is usually leading troops into battle, and raising their morale, holding the Vexillium flag above his head as they walk into a town, or raiding something else. Vexillarius is also known for their frequent time spent training others, most likely recruits. Their rank is equivalent to a Decanus.

Take this into consideration, and please take up a new Centurion soon please, it's getting tedious watching, and waiting for a new leader to uprise. Thanks.

Praetorians are Caeser/Legate bodyguards right?

Yeah, they're chosen to guard Caesar, but can also go on expeditions like any other soldier. They're still in line to receive Cenrurion though.

I don't remember seeing them anywhere outside of Caeser or Legates camp. If there is no legate/Caeser on this server, maybe they can be Centurion guards instead?

This is actually very good and detailed, not sure why I'm addressing something that small. Also, would you mind moving this to the suggestions section?
