Brotherhood of Steel: Training Structure

~Initiate-Hood~

[Introduction/Indoctrination:]:

Introduction includes the very basics a new member of the Brotherhood of Steel will need to know to be able to understand the basics of his/her new home. This should usually be initiated within their first two days of joining our ranks. The member should be welcomed and acquainted to the facility he/she lives in, being shown all necessary locations within. During this process, they should be accustomed to any special rules in the current facility (i.e. restricted areas). After this process is completed, they should be quickly thrown into the etiquette class while they are still with you.

Make sure they have read these:

[Etiquette]:

Etiquette is a very basic class, but is still an important step for a new initiate. This class should be taught by another member qualified to teach this. Etiquette should not be expected to be perfected until the said initiate is done with all their training.

Etiquette is very basic, lower ranks will always call the higher rank by their rank + last name. (Although forgetting the last name is acceptable)
Ex. As a Knight, you would call Head Paladin John Doe as “Head Paladin Doe”

While equivalent and lower ranks you call them “Brother” or “Sister” determined by gender. You can also accompany this by their first name.
Ex. As a Senior Knight, you would call Knight Jane Doe as “Sister Jane” or “Sister.”
Ex. As a Paladin, you would call Paladin James Doe as “Brother James” or “Brother.”

As for the Elder of the chapter, they will be announced by their rank/last name depending on their preference, showing the up-most respect to them. While still retaining a rather friendly and relaxed manor. Unless you are told other wise by the Elder him/herself.
Ex. As a any rank of the Brotherhood, you would call Elder Jim Carmine as “Elder Carmine”, “Elder” or “My Elder.”

But you may also call equivalent and lower ranks by their ranks + last name.
Depending on the chapter and Elder, Etiquette can be an enforced rule or not.

Make sure they understand the ranks, and their structure from:

[Firearms Training]:

Firearms training is a crucial part to any Initiate due to the necessary duty of keeping all Brothers and Sisters safe. In this training, we require the trainer to retrieve a weapon of choice (most likely a small arms weapon). This can range from a 10mm pistol to a laser pistol, dependent on availability. Once the weapon is acquired, you must teach the initiate the basics of the weapon: From loading, handling, and safety to cleaning, replacing and checking. Once the basics are down, you may proceed to the firing range if instructed/allowed, where they (The Initiates) must show basic proficiency in the three stance levels (Standing, Crouching, Prone through RP of course). Once they do, and pass their test, they are free to carry around a weapon around the facility.

[Cell Recharging]:

Being able to recharge a cell using the surrounding around you is a very beneficial to you and your Brothers. This will allow for us to never run low on ammunition; rather, the few of us still using laser technology. Seeing as the Brotherhood is a techno-religious group relying on any and all technology. Teaching the Initiates how to do so, will be one of the most important training sessions you will be forced to teach, and one of the most stressful.

There are two methods of which I have been taught, one is really.. Really REALLY difficult, were as the other is rather simple. And you guessed it, we will be learning.. Simple one! [WIP]

[Physical Training/Test]:

Being physically fit in the Brotherhood is another crucial part to any member. The physical tests should consist of push ups, chin ups, sit ups, running, and (possibly) an obstacle course. These tests should be administered to push the initiates to their limits, in-order to determine whether they are fit enough to continue on.

[Power Armor Training]:

Being able to wield the pre-war power armor and use it in the field is an important skill every member should know. Other than being able to wear the armor, they should be educated in the basics of the armor. First they should know a little specifics like, what power source the armor runs on (TX-28 MicroFusion Packs), that the armor simply can’t sustain itself without the source. They should be taught on how to do basic maintenance like checking the filters in the helmets integrated gas-mask. Once they understand the basics of the suit, they should be taught on how to assemble the armor on themselves. They should learn to allow the suit to do most of the work, and learn basic maneuvers with the armor on. They should do at least one physical in a full suit of armor. Once they are comfortable, they are cleared to receive a suit once they move to the next military rank.
